October 2010 - Finding a garden

The first task was to find a garden. After advertising with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, we sieved through dozens of questionnaires, spent a couple of days viewing potential gardens, measured, questioned, ummed, ahhed, and scratched our heads, and eventually decided on the perfect garden for The Wildlife Garden Project. The garden was small enough to be manageable, but large enough that we could create a wide range of habitats. This was essential, we wanted to be able to show how to do as much as possible, with the hope that everyone could take at least one or two of the things we have done and apply it to their own garden. Step one…complete!
